***IF I STAY (Book One in the Guardian Series)***
One of my favorite historical romance settings is Regency England. I also love the magic and fantasy of a fairytale Castle in a faraway land. Why not combine the two? In writing this story, I had an enormous amount of fun contrasting the societies of both worlds. I hope you will enjoy the often humorous situations that arose with a hero and heroine (each with a very different idea of "normal") who both had to try to find common ground on their road to happily-ever-after.
When JUSTIN MONTROSE, a former captain in the British Army and the new fifth Duke of Claymore, is rescued from highwaymen by a mysterious beauty, their meeting sets in motion his search for an angel. As he will discover, the truth of ARIANA’s identity is more than most ordinary men can swallow. Not only is his angel a member of the Order of Guardians, an eclectic group of time travelers, but she has a surprising tie to his world and time. Will that tie, and the growing attraction between them, be enough for her to abandon her calling as a Guardian? If not, does he have a place in her world? He’s not certain, and when his angel needs rescuing herself and loses her memory, he takes his chance and smothers his conscience to rewrite her past. But it’s hard work to maintain a lie - - especially when Ariana has a secret locked in her mind that her former Guardian colleagues are desperate for her to remember.

Beth, fighting a lifelong battle of mental illness, doesn't stand a chance against the vultures. With the help of a grim reaper, can he find a way to help his wife from beyond the grave? Or will sensing his presence prove her insanity?

In my paranormal romance writing, I'm building stories with a sometimes obvious and sometimes obsure tie to the world of The Order of Guardians. Who are the Guardians? Well, depending on the story and the character's perspective, the Guardian can be anyone or anywhere, either an angel or a grim reaper. The Guardian can appear in Regency England or modern day Washington, DC or anywhere in time or history. They have a home, of course. Everyone needs a home base and this world is introduced in:
***An Unsuitable Entanglement***
Romance is not on the agenda for Alison Gray. The take-charge Guardian found her confidence shaken by the role she played to restore her beloved Order of time-traveling Guardians to its former honor. Now, armed with a list of names she paid a high price to obtain, all she cares about is finding the Guardians who have been unfairly banished and bring them home. For this she needs help...preferably from a trained Guardian. Instead, she gets Lord Percifield, a 19th century English peer who doesn't seem to have a serious bone in his admittedly splendid body.
Percy has worked hard to build a reputation as a gentleman without a care in the world. It suits his purpose to have the world think him a fool. But his cover may soon be blown to bits when he teams up on an adventure with a beautiful woman whose superior attitude tests his pride. It can only be described as an entirely unsuitable entanglement!

Getting into trouble runs in the family. In the wake of a political scandal, Carrie Riley is a witness who knows too much and it's up to Nick Fallon to keep her safe and alive in the days before her Grand Jury testimony. But in the unusual hideout of a Victorian mansion, Nick discovers the depth of her painful secret and a new and fragile intimacy is forged between them. Protecting Carrie from a killer becomes a very personal mission and he will use every resource at his disposal to keep her safe. And what better way to put her out of a killer's reach could there be than to remove her to another time?
Carrie has experienced more than her share of the paranormal, but nothing has prepared her for being swept away to Regency England! Even more unsettling, the man she's learned to trust with her body and soul has abandoned her in another time, leaving her hurt and bewildered, but safe in the care of the Duke and Duchess of Claymore. She's left with the bombshell that Nick isn't even his real name...only she doesn't know the man named Eric left in his place. But her mysterious protector fails miserably at abandonment. When she needs him, he appears. When he find out she's being courted by the charming rakes of the ton, he appears. But the question remains, where does he go when he disappears? And why does everyone who knows him warn her Eric is unattainable, but stop short of saying exactly why?
When Eric reveals the truth of his identity, she finally knows why a future together is impossible. But tell that to her heart. As the days slip closer to her return to the 21st century to testify, a task she dreads, all she wants is to have Nick back, the man she knew...and the only one who knows her secret. And after that, if he dared to leave her again, she'd follow. She'd just have to show him an impossible love is worth the risk.
